Assessment of TiO2 Nanoparticles on Maize Seedlings and Terrestrial Isopods Under Greenhouse Conditions

چکیده

This study aims to evaluate the TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) and soil type effect on Zea mays L. seedlings assess of NPs retained in organic matter terrestrial isopods (Armadillidium vulgare, Latreille). It was hypothesized that (i) combined pH minerals, addition harm maize plants, (ii) increasing Ti’s content (OM) causes mortality isopods. Under greenhouse conditions, effects (300 600 mg kg?1 dry soil) were assessed during 21 days acid or alkaline soils, with an layer above surface (3 cm). An inhibitory plant length root size clearly shown at but not soils. Besides, a higher amount Ti accumulated tissues than those grown soil. increase caused concentrations (SOM), which harmed survival weight when OM is consumed. Isopods limit consumption high while leached toward deeper layers allowing reduction height Z. plants Nevertheless, further investigations association natural conditions are required.

Effects of salinity and Ca:Mg ratio of irrigation water on pistachio seedlings phosphorus planted under greenhouse conditions

Phosphorus (P) is a key element in many biological processes of plants and animals. We aimed to investigate the effect of different salinity levels and Ca:Mg ratios of irrigation water arid lands on soil available P, soluble P, and P absorbed by the pistachio plant. For this purpose, a greenhouse experiment was conducted by sowing the seeds of pistachio in a factorial randomized block design wi...

Effects of TiO2 nanoparticles on wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) seedlings cultivated under super-elevated and normal CO2 conditions

Concerns over the potential risks of nanomaterials to ecosystem have been raised, as it is highly possible that nanomaterials could be released to the environment and result in adverse effects on living organisms. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the main greenhouse gases. The level of CO2 keeps increasing and subsequently causes a series of environmental problems, especially for agricultural cro...

Effects of Different Ectomycorrhizal Fungal Inoculates on the Growth of Pinus tabulaeformis Seedlings under Greenhouse Conditions

The tree species Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. (P. tabulaeformis) is commonly planted in China due to its economic and ecological value. In order to identify one or more ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungal species for future P. tabulaeformis afforestation, we investigated the effects of five ECM fungal species: Laccaria laccata, Boletus edulis, Gomphidius viscidus, Suillus grevillei, and Suillus luteus on...

Inoculation and Successful Colonization of Whitebark Pine Seedlings With Native Mycorrhizal Fungi Under Greenhouse Conditions

Efforts to maintain and restore whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) forests in western North America have increased dramatically over the last two decades and now include the planting of nursery-grown rust resistant seedlings in openings and burned areas. Over 200,000 nursery seedlings have been planted in the western U.S. but survival rates are low and in many areas approach zero. One possibilit...

Wolbachia in Neotropical terrestrial isopods.

Despite Wolbachia being widespread among terrestrial isopods, studies on this symbiotic relationship are still incipient in the Neotropical region. The aims of the present study were to investigate the presence and prevalence of Wolbachia in natural populations of terrestrial isopod species in South America, and to analyze the diversity and phylogenetic relationships of Wolbachia strains. A tot...
